The visibility of your online store’s category pages can be optimized with the help of SEO tags. These metadata improve the performance of product categories. The following steps show how an admin can set up SEO tags for a category.
Step 1 - Log in to your ShopOnCloud account.
Step 2 - Click on “Catalogue” in the left side menu.
Step 3 - Click “Category” under catalogue.
Step 4 - Click the Icon on the top to add a new category. ( You can also perform the same task of adding SEO tags to your existing category through the click the existing category. )
Step 5 - Click the “SEO” section.
Step 6 - Click the icon to add a new variable for the “Page Title” field. (You also have the option to type the page title.)
Step 6 - Click the icon to add a new variable for the “Default Meta Title” field. (You also have the option to type the meta tags.)
Step 7 - Click the icon to add new variables for the “Default Meta keyword” field. (You also have the option to type the meta tags.)
Step 8 - Click the icon to add a new variable for the “Default Meta Description” field. (You also have the option to type the meta tags.)
Step 9 - Click “Add New” under Custom Meta Tags to create new meta tags.
Step 10 - Type a Name for the new meta tag.
Step 11 - Type the content of the tag. You can also select an existing variable by clicking the icon. (For advanced editing, use the Edit as HTML icon.)
Step 12 - Click the “Action” drop-down button.
Step 13 - Click on the “Preview Metadata” option. (This allows you to preview the newly added tags) By selecting the “Reset Metadata” option, you can add these changes to the default meta pattern.
Step 14 - Click the “Save” button.
Admins can follow this method whenever modifications are required with category-related metadata.
