Products at your store can be arranged under various categories. Each category can further be assigned with unique metadata. This improves the online visibility of each category making it easier for customers to find them. The SEO Settings section in the admin console is designed to perform these tasks. The following steps have to be followed to do these improvements.
Step 1 - Log in to your ShopOnCloud account.
Step 2 - Click on “Settings” in the left side menu.
Step 3 - Click “Configurations” under settings.
Step 4 - Click on “SEO Settings”.
Step 5 - Click the “Category” field.
Step 6 - Click the icon to add a new variable for the “Page Title” field. (You also have the option to type the page title.)
Step 7 - Click the icon to add a new variable for the “Default Meta Title” field. (You also have the option to type the meta tags.)
Step 8 - Click the icon to add new variables for the “Default Meta Keywords” field. (You also have the option to type the meta tags.)
Step 9 - Click the icon to add a new variable for the “Default Meta Description” field. (You also have the option to type the meta tags.)
Step 10 - Click “Add New” under Custom Meta Tags to create new meta tags.
Step 11 - Type a name for the new meta tag.
Step 12 - Type the content of the tag. You can also select an existing variable by clicking the icon. (For advanced editing, use the Edit as HTML icon.)
Step 13- Click the “SAVE” button. ( If you wish to apply these settings to upcoming categories, continue with Save. You can apply the change to all the existing pages by clicking on Save and apply to existing categories. )
The categories at your online store are now more efficient and can be updated with metadata. The improvements done to one category page can also be applied to the rest of the category pages. The above steps can always be followed in any future modifications.
